Mrs. D. W. Gibson Funeral Rites Held

FERRIDAY, La. -- Funeral services for Mrs. D. W. Gibson, 65, wife of the district attorney for Catahoula and Concordia pairshes, were held at 10 a.m. today in the Harrisonburg Baptist church with Rev. Ray Walters, assisted by Rev. J. O. McNair officiating. Burial was in the Harrisonburg cemetery under direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Mrs. Gibson, a former school teacher, died at 12:05 a.m. Monday in an Alexandria hospital. She was the former Izetta Peters, a native of Winn parish. She was president of elections in Catahoula parish and a member of the Catahoula parish library board.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern star, Elizabeth Thompson chapter, and a member of the Baptist church.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband; seven daughters, Dr. Wanna Ann Fort, a medical missionary in Southern Rhodesia, Mrs. Jack M. Sharp of Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Vincent J. Newman of Walnut Creek, Calif., Mrs. Donald A. Hamilton Jr. of Bartlesville, Okla., Mrs. Darrell L. Mills of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. T. Wayne McDonald of New Orleans and Mrs. Kenneth W. Ellzey of Monroe; 12 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Randolph Broussard of Alexandria and Mrs. Maude Bea[i]rd of Shreveport.
