Oliver ``Billie'' Hardie
Funeral services for Mr. Oliver ``Billie'' Hardie, age 80, of Jonesville, LA will be held at Wallace Ridge Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Revs. Lester Johnson, Marvin Dunn, and Toney Ganey officiating. Interment will follow at McFarland Gurie [sic McFarlen-Gurie] Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.
Mr. Hardie was born April 26, 1926 in Jonesville, LA to Lillie and Steve Hardie, at a young age his father passed away and Mrs. Lillie married Mr. Ed Harris who raised ``Billie'' as his own. He passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Cabrini Medical Center, Alexandria. He was a life long resident of Jonesville, a gauger in the oil field, farmer and cattleman. He was a member of Wallace Ridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by father, Steve Hardie and Ed Harris; mother, Lillie Hardie Harris; brothers, Tommy, Norman, and Claude Hardie; sister, Ida Masters.
Survivors include wife, Nell Wyles Hardie of Jonesville; daughters, Sherrie and Steve D. Thompson of Lake Concordia, Pam and Yates McGraw of Lake Concordia; sons, Bo Hardie of Jonesville, John Hardie of Jonesville; grandchildren, Tiffany Foster of Bossier City, Morgan Ryan of Jonesville and Storee Ryan of Monroe. Sisters, Lula Dunn of Pineville, Stevie Butts of Jonesville, Eula Mae Elliott of Jena; brother Bobby Harris of Jonesville.
The pallbearers will be Cloyd, Howard, Justin and Weegie Hardie, Jackie and Morgan Ryan, Rod Daggett, and Kenneth Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Pugh, Glenn Shivers, Pete Ford, and Billy Coy.
The family will receive friends at Youngs Funeral Home, Jonesville, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
