Oliver Martin (Marty) Reed Jr.

Oliver Martin (Marty) Reed, Jr., age 80, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died October 4, 2006.

Born January 1, 1926 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, only child of Oliver M. Reed, Sr. and wife, Lucille and was Shawnee's first baby of the year. Graduated Shawnee High School, Class of 1943 and immediately joined the Merchant Marines at age 17. He was a Veteran of WWII, a private investigator for more than 30 years, retiring in 2004. Marty was active with the Moose Lodge in Yukon and on the Board of Officers for several years. Throughout his life he stayed active and enjoyed tennis, boating, bicycling and traveled many places internationally as well. He was an avid dancer especially favoring big band music.

He is survived by only his cousin, Teddy Ann Tallon of Plano, TX and her daughter Stacy S. Matthews of New York City, many cherished friends, neighbors and his precious poodle, Heidi.

Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 9, 2006 at Guardian North Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at a later time at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee.
