Funeral services for Oliver Ray Whittington, JR will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Cashner Colonial Chapel.
Oliver was born November 1, 1926 in Macomb [sic McComb], Mississippi to Oliver and Vivian Whittington and passed away August 11, 2012 in Conroe, Texas. Oliver served our country in the United States Navy. Oliver loved golfing and taught instructors for over twenty years at Champions Golf Course. He had a love for the 40's music and dancing.
Oliver is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Catharine Whittington; children, Ray Whittington and his wife Michele, Cathy McDonald and husband Sam, Amy Brown and husband Phillip, Linda Tyler and husband Russ and Laura Spencer and husband Tim; sisters, Mary Sacchieri and Betty Wardwell; grandchildren, Lisa, Jessica, John, Aaron, Reagan, William, Devin, Derek, Lana, Lynn, Lauren, Rachel, Phillip, Mark, Keith, Sara and Katie. Numerous great grandchildren and other relatives along with a host of friends also survive.
