Oliver Coleman
Oliver Coleman, 86, longtime resident of Gloster, died Jan.4, 2002, at Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville.
Visitation is 5-9 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, and continues at Mary Springs Church of God of Prophesy at 9 a.m. Monday until religious services there at 11 a.m. The Revs. Bobby Greer and Grady Fulton will officiate. Burial will be in Mary Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Coleman was born Oct. 2, 1915, in Franklin County, the son [of] Soloman and Janie Freeman Coleman.
He was retired from the U.S. Forest Service and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was also a member of Mary Springs Church of God of Prophesy.
Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Whittington and Irene Cloy.
Survivors include his wife, Alverine Coleman of Gloster; one son, Billy Coleman; and one brother, Homer Coleman of Smithdale.
