Oliver L. Walley
Funeral services for Oliver L. Walley, 50, of Rt. 1, Florence, Miss. were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Richland Baptist Church, with Rev. J.L. Reeves officiating. Interment was made in Plain Cemetery with Masonic Rites at graveside.
Mr. Walley died Monday in the Baptist Hospital following a brief illness. He was a native of Smith County but had been a resident of Florence for the past twenty years.
Mr. Walley was a foreman for Contract Battery Co., belonged to Richland Baptist Church and was a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Grace Walley; one son, O.V. Walley; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Dean Steward, Jackson, Mrs. Ernestine Smith Pineville, and Mrs. Velda Rhea Newsom, Montrose; three brothers, Frank Walley, Sylverena, Tom Walley and Allen Walley both of Jackson; four sisters, Mrs. Melvin Alexander, Bay Springs, Mrs. Olie [sic Obie] Rayner, Magee, Mrs. Estelle Dolan, Morton, Mrs. Cleveland Montgomery, Pineville; and nine grandchildren.
