Ollie Ree Talley
Ollie Ree Ramsey Talley Mimi was called to her heavenly home on May 1, 2013. She was born August 3, 1934 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Grant and Annie Thelma Bennett Ramsey. She was reared in the Rayville, Louisiana area.
Ollie married Lynn Carlton Talley on October 31, 1953. They raised their family in Irving, Texas and retired and moved to the Lake Palestine area, south of Chandler, in 1977. Lynn and Ollie were married for 48 years, until his death in May 2002.
She retired from Sears. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her many plants and flowers. She loved to bake and entertain her family and guests. Her home was always full of her wonderful gift of hospitality and fond memories were cultivated there. She adored her children and grandchildren and delighted when she could brag about their accomplishments. She had a strong work ethic and believed in the gift of helping and serving others. She personified a quiet and gentle elegance as a southern lady but could make others joyful with her quick wit and humor.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Her parents, her husbands Victor Adams and Lynn Talley, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include her companion and friend, Jimmy Bell of Plano, son, Victor Adams, Jr. and his wife Jerry of Cassville, MO., son, Keith Talley and his wife Robbie of Larue, Texas and daughter, Linda Housden and husband Mike of Grand Saline, brother, John Ramsey and wife Gay of Rayville, LA., 11 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren, 1 greatgreatgrandchild and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Services will be held at Hilliard Funeral Home in Van on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Stephen Hill officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sand Flat Cemetery, Van Zandt County. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
