Mrs. Oma Elliott Edwards

Funeral services for Mrs. Oma Elliott Edwards, 91, of Ruston will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston with Rev. Chris Andrews officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of the funeral home.

Mrs. Edwards died Tuesday at the Alpine Guest Care center in Ruston following a lengthy illness.

She was a retired school teacher and a retired dietician with Louisiana Tech University and Lincoln General Hospital. She was the last remaining charter member of the Lincoln Parish Senior Citizen's Association. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Trinity United Methodist Ch[u]rch, the Magi Chapter #85 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the homemakers club of Lincoln Parish, She wa[s] a native of Dodson, but had been a Ruston resident for the past 50 years.

Survivors include one son, Elliott Ray Edwards of Ruston; a daughter-in-law, Frances Hancock Edwards of Ruston; one sister, Mrs. Eva Larson of Norphlet, Ark.; one foster brother, Howard French of Jonesboro; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mae Elliott of Jackson, Miss.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
