Omer E. Varnado
Omer E. Varnado, 80, of Gloster, died Dec. 23, 2000, at Natchez Regional Medical Center.
Services were at 2 this afternoon at Gloster United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Fink officiating. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery of Gloster. Brown Funeral Home of Gloster is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Varnado was born Jan. 6, 1920. He was the son of Martin Luther Varnado and Edith Mae Dickey Varnado.
He was retired from Mississippi Power & Light Co., and owned and operated a retail store in Gloster. He was a member of Gloster United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Gideons.
Mr. Varnado was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ora Spillman Varnado; one brother, Robert Adrian Varnado; and one sister, Christine V. Nettles.
Survivors include one son, Mike Varnado of McComb; one daughter, Angela Varnado of Gloster; and three grandchildren, Abby McGinty, Rebecca Varnado and Erin Varnado.
