Services for Mrs. Oneta Arbuthnot Heard, 93, of West Monroe will be held at 2 PM Wednesday February 12, 2003 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe with Dr. David Uth officiating. Burial will be in the Hasley Cemetery.

Mrs. Heard was born in Catahoula Parish on May 4, 1909 and went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 9, 2003. She came to West Monroe in 1930 as the bride of James Heard. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother and also assisted her husband for many years in the Abstract & Title Co. of Monroe. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe for over 60 years.

Mrs. Heard was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Heard; two brothers, Howard Ware Arbuthnot and Bennett Burton Arbuthnot; and one sister, Annabelle Arbuthnot.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Elizabeth and her husband Noel Ray Jones; two grandchildren, Michael Ray Jones and wife, Suzanne and Susan Elizabeth and her husband Dr. Craig Henderson; one great-grandson, Calvin Everett Henderson; two brothers, Col. (Ret.) George Stanley Arbuthnot and wife, Cicely Anne and Charles Dewitt Arbuthnot and wife, Lois; one sister-in-law, Edna Reitzell; special niece, Margery Wroten; friend and companion, Mildred Chapman.

Pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Dr. Craig Henderson, Jim Randall, Steve Randall, Truman Chapman and Dr. Stephen Carter.

Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe.
