Mrs. Joe Watson's Funeral Services Conducted Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Joe Watson of Dallas, a former Maypearl resident, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Rudolph Chapel of the Chimes with Rev. H. E. Littlejohn officiating. Burial was in Forreston cemetery.

Mrs. Watson, 37, was found dead early Sunday just outside the doorway of the Barbecue Shack in Dallas. Police said she was “an innocent bystander” in a pistol duel at the cafe; Mrs. Watson was hit in the chest and abdominal areas by two .45 - caliber slugs. Two men were jailed by Dallas officers for investigation of murder following the shooting.

Mrs. Watson, who was born on Jan. 8, 1918, at Decatur, moved to Maypearl when a young girl and then to Dallas. She was married to Joe Watson five years ago and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three brothers, P. H. Woolsey and Donald R. Woolsey, both of Amarillo and Kennethy Woolsey of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. Jack Powell of Happy, Mrs. Margaret Slemp and Mrs. Fred Coce, both of Amarillo; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Woolsey of Tulsa.
