Funeral services are 10:00 am Saturday, September 06, 2008, at Colonial Chapel in Mendenhall, MS with burial at 1:00 pm County Line Baptist Church Cemetery, Crystal Springs, MS.

Mrs. Whittington was born June 30, 1923, in Wayne County, MS. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Braxton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Hardy and Mattie Mae Jones Pippen; husband, Hansel Whittington, Sr.; son, Hansel Whittington, Jr.; daughter, Dorothy Mae Whittington; and son-in-law, Bobby Gordon.
Survivors include: daughters, Donnis Taylor and husband, Jimmy, and Dale Gordon, all of Braxton, and Judy Grantham and husband, Lonnie, of Harrisville; sister, Audrey Street of Alabama; nine granddaughters, 22 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
