Ora S. Varnado

Ora Spillman Varnado, 78, of Gloster, died Dec. 19, 2000, at Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville.

Visitation is 5-9 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gloster United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Fink officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Gloster.

Mrs. Varnado was born May 6, 1922, in Amite County. She was the daughter of Robert Spillman and Mattie Sterling Spillman.

She was a retired flower shop owner and homemaker. She wasa member of Gloster U.M. Church.

Mrs. Varnado was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Omer E. Varnado of Gloster; one son, Mike Varnado of McComb; one daughter, Angela Varnado of Gloster; three grandchildren, Abby McGinty, and Rebecca and Erin Varnado; three brothers, Joe Spillman of Gloster, Frank Spillman of Fayette and J.W. Spillman of Bay Minette, Ala.; and four sisters, Francis Jones and Mildred Williams, both of Liberty, Velma Spillman of Woodville and Johnnie Ruth Jones of Zachary, La.

Pallbearers will be Bucky Darden, Adam Sterling, Chad McGentry, Doug Iverson, Jerry Spillman and Butch Graves. Honorary pallbearers will be Barney Poole, Bill Adams, Buck Beard, Sam McNeil and Oliver Poole.
