Oral Albert Gann (1928-2009)

SHERMAN -- Oral Albert “Punk” Gann, 81, of Sherman passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at Texoma Healthcare. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at Friendship Cemetery with Reverend Houston Garner of Hebron Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:30 -8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 at Dannel Funeral Home.

Oral was born on June 20, 1928, the son of John Morgan and Annie Garrett Gann. He was educated in the public schools. On May 1, 1945 he married Bulah Lee Gann in Sherman. They enjoyed more than 53 years of marriage before her death in January 2009. After 39 years of service, he retired from the City of Sherman. Oral was nicknamed Punk because he loved pumpkin pie.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Albert Lee Gann, Oral is survived by four grandchildren, Mark Gann, Mike Gann, Albert Gann Jr. and Traci Langley; and six great-grandchildren.
