ANDREWS, SR., OREN O'NEIL ``BLACKIE''

A retired painting contractor and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 8:16 p.m. Monday, July 20, 1998, at Columbia Medical Center. He was 84 and a native of McComb, Miss. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Survived by three daughters, Barbara Wakefield Bonner, Lafayette, Diane Andrews Ortego and Sharon A. Geismar, both of Baton Rouge; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Oren O'Neil Andrews Jr., Joseph Mark and Claire Andrews and John Anthony Andrews, all of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Jane Andrews Weaver, Baton Rouge, and Mildred Andrews Andres, Belle Chase; eight grandchildren, a great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife, Ida Mae Barrett Andrews; four brothers, Lucius J., Noel F., George W. and Jack B. Andrews; and two sisters, Ruby Andrews and Ola A. Magearl.
