GORMAN (RNS) -- O. P. (Jake) Chambless, 64, of Gorman died Monday evening after an apparent heart attack at the Texas Federal Inspection Station in De Leon where he worked. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Higginbotham Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Lanny Spruill, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, and the Rev. Joe O'Neil, retired Gorman Baptist minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Murrey Memorial Cemetery near Carbon,
Born Sept. 1, 1910, in Gorman, Mr. Chambless married Gladys Asher at Carbon Oct. 5, 1933. He was a Baptist.
Survivors are his wife; daughter, Mrs. Jo Ann Miller of Fort Worth; his mother, Mrs. Mamie Chambless of Gorman; two grandchildren, David Wayne Hatcher and Mrs. Carolyn Johnston, both of Fort Worth; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbears will be Holloll Watson, Truitt Coffman, Bob Spies, Stanley Porter, Homer Richardson and Bob Natchigal.
