O. B. (Mack) McCARTY

O. B. (Mack) McCarty, 66, 1815 North Fifth Ave., Laurel, died Monday in a Laurel hospital following an extended illness.

A native of Jasper County, he was retired from real estate and was a restaurant owner and operator. McCarty was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dora Walters McCarty, Laurel; one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Imogene) Rudder; one grandson, William Lee Henderson III, both of Mobile, Ala.; two brothers, Amos McCarty, Laurel; Leo McCarty, Magee; and three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Sanders and Mrs. Myrtis Carter, both of Ellisville; Mrs. Maudine Fragapane, Erie, Pa.

Services will be held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Memory Chapel Funeral Home. The Revs. Henry Bucklew and Artis Brewer will officiate. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

Active pallbearers will be V. A. Flynt, William Wells, Clyde Nix, Herbert McBride, Sam Lindsey and Jack Murdoch.

Honorary pallbearers will be R. L. Willett, Claude Riley, Wilson Partlow, C. B. Cameron, R. L. Hamilton, Dewey Blackledge, Maurice Flowers and G. D. Jefcoat.
