JAMES OSCAR BOYD

BAY SPRINGS, Miss. -- At 7:45 Wednesday morning, James Oscar Boyd, aged 72, was found by his daughter-in-law, Mrs. G. H. Boyd, to have died in his sleep a short time before his death was discovered.

Mr. Boyd lived in a trailer behind the residence of his son, the Rev. G. H. Boyd. He had not been well for a week but was in town the day before his death.

Born in Newton county, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Boyd, who moved to Laurel who [sic when] he was a small boy, where he had resided until a few years ago, after retiring. He was a machinst [sic machinist] for Green Lumber Company 35 years; a member of Union Baptist church, Smith county, where his son is pastor.

Funeral services will be held from Union church, date of which is not set, pending the arrival of relatives from California.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. R. [sic B.] C. Campbell, Fresno, California, and Mrs. Johnny Womack, Santa Ana, Calif., two sons, the Rev. Mr. Boyd and James H. Boyd, Willington, Calif. A sister, Mrs. J. L. Davis, Sr., Laurel; a brother, Allen Boyd, California, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Lake Park cemetery, Laurel, beside Mrs. Boyd who preceded him in death 13 years.
