O.J. Walker

VERNON -- O.J. Walker, 79, of Vernon died Sunday, May 8, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilbarger Street Church of Christ with Jay Hanley and Joe Dale Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mr. Walker served in the Navy during World War II. He retired as County Commissioner of Precinct 1 in Wilbarger County.

Survivors include three sons, H.E. of Vernon, Wayne and Joe, both of Fargo; three daughters, Laurie Greening, Sherry Barnes and Marquita, all of Vernon; two sisters, Freida Amerine of LaJunta, Colo., and Gwen Piper of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Wilbarger Street Church of Christ.

The family will be at 2703 Eagle in Vernon.
