Oscar Weldon Largent

Services for Oscar Weldon Largent, 90, of Lufkin, were held Sept. 22, 2000 in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Huntington Cemetery.

Mr. Largent was born June 28, 1919 in Angelina Co., Texas to Mary Rosalena (McCar[t]y) and George Washington Largent and died Sept. 18, 2000, at his residence.

He had resided in Angelina County most of his life and was a retire bookkeeper with Lufkin Industries where he was employed for over 40 years. Mr. Largent served in the U S Army during WWII and was a member of the First Christian Church of Lufkin.

Survivors: one sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews; special friend, George Dunn of Hudson; God-daugh[t]er, Teresa Hollis of Hudson and a number of other friends.

Mr. Largent was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Parker Largent.
