Death Claims Ex-Farmer
O. E. Hardage, 86, long-time resident of the Hinds Community, died about 6 p.m. Saturday in a local rest home after a brief illness.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Austin, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Rev. Bill Hardage, a grandson, will officiate. Burial will be in East View Memorial Park.
Mr. Hardage was born Nov. 11, 1881, in Leake County, Miss. He married Miss Mary Ogletree in Neshoba County, Miss., in 1906. They came to Wilbarger County in 1915 and settled in the Hinds Community. His wife preceded him in death in 1931. He married Mrs. Edna Walker in 1934 and she died in 1952.
Mr. Hardage farmed in the Hinds Community until he retired in 1936. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Buckner's Bible Class.
He is survived by a son, Leroy Hardage of Hinds Community; a stepson, Oscar Joe Walker of Vernon; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Price Piper of Arizona and Mrs. Frieda McClain of Colorado; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Horton of Carthage, Miss.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
