Otis Spillman
Otis Spillman, 80, a resident of Long Beach, died Oct. 7, 1999, in Gulfport.
Riemann Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at a later date in the National Cemetery in Augusta, Me.
Mr. Spillman was a native of Gloster and had been a resident of Long Beach since 1984. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. A Baptist and a Mason, he had received the Soldier's Medal.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jewel, Robert and Delmer Spillman; and a sister, Inez Rider.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Dunn Spillman of Long Beach; two sons, Jerry Spillman of Long Beach and Wayne Spillman of Waterville, Maine; a daughter, Janis Spillman Spellman of Kennesaw, Ga.; three brothers, J.D. Spillman of Bay Minette, Ala., Frank Spillman of Fayette and Joe Spillman of Liberty; five sisters, Ora Varnado of Gloster, Velma Spillman of Woodville, Frances Jones and Mildred Williams, both of Liberty, and Johnnie Ruth Jones of Zackery; and three grandchildren, Adam, Ashley and Paige Spellman.
In lieu of flowers, donations may by made to a local church or favorite charity in memory of Mr. Spillman.
