Ottice Ray Hammons

Funeral services for Ottice Ray Hammons, former postal supervisor of the Pinewood Park substation and a resident of 707 South 12th Street, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, dr. W. Morris Ford and the Rev. Kenneth Mann will conduct the service and burial will be in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Welch Funeral Home.

Hammons died Wednesday in a local hospital following a short illness.

He retired recently, after 39 years in the postal service, ending his career as the supervisor for the former Pinewood Park station.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mamie Hammons, Longview; one son, William Henry Hammons, Longview; three daughters, Mrs. T. L. Bennett, Longview, Mrs. G. W. NIx, Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. J. A. Canavespe, Fort Worth; two brothers, Marx Hammons, Fayette, Ala., and I. O. Hammons, Colfax, La.; and four grandchildren.
