O. F. M'Carty Dies; Rites Set Friday
Owen Fleming McCarty, 62, a pressman for the Oil and Gas
Journal 23 years, died Wednesday night at his home,
6813 E. King Place.
A native of Sulphur Springs, Tex., McCarty had been a Tulsan
since 1920. He had composed several sacred songs
nad [sic] had participated in many community sings
here.
Surviving are the widow, Reva; a daughter, Norma Gail
McCarty, of the home; two brothers, E. L. McCarty,
123 S. Denver Ave., and Dan McCarty, 4611 S. 63rd
West Ave.; and five sisters, Mrs. Lydia Allen,
1118 Charles Page Blvd.; Mrs. Bertha Campbell and
Mrs. Judy Humphreys, both of Claremore; Mrs. Beulah
Prock, Eloy, Ariz.; and Mrs. Tina Reynolds, Commerce,
Tex.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the
Owen Park Church of Christ, of which he was a
member. Interment will be in Claremore. Moore
Funeral Home is in charge.
