Rites Pending For Custer

Owen Kenneth Custer, 62, of Calhoun, died early today at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.

A native of Hodge, Mr. Custer had been a resident of Calhoun for the past 32 years. He was an inspector with the Louisiana State Highway Department. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Doris Custer of Calhoun; one daughter, Mrs. Brenda Randall of Monroe; one son, Capt. Kenneth S. Custer with the U.S. Air Force in California; four brothers, Edward Custer, of Beaumont, Tex., Arthur Custer of Lake Providence, Frank Custer of Mobile, Ala., and Paul Custer, of Springhill; and two grandchildren.
