Ozie McCarty

Funeral services for Ozie Temple McCarty, 75, of Monroe, were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.

Interment was in White Swan Cemetery, with the Rev. Eugene Brown officiating.

A native of Fort Necessity, she was born Feb. 24, 1912. She was a housewife. She died on July 20, 1987.

Survivors include one daughter, Janice Sharbono, Irving, Texas; one son, Nathan McCarty, Shreveport; two step-daughters, Edna Shumake, Dallas, Texas and Henrietta Johnson, Rocky Branch; two step-sons, G. W. McCarty and Gene T. McCarty, both of West Monroe; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kenneth McCarty, Randy McCarty, Mitchell McCarty, Jack McCarty, Jerry Johnson and Wayne Johnson.

Mike Barette and Charlie Hickman served as honorary pallbearers.
