Pamela Griffing Fischer
Pamela Griffing Fischer, of Mabelvale, Arkansas died of cancer June 28, 2008.
She was the daughter of the late Dr. Asa Robert Griffing and Margaret Magee
Griffing. She was born August 13, 1949 in Wisner, Louisiana. Pamela was a
professional and avid hobby seamstress. She was preceded in death by her
father, Dr. Asa Robert Griffing of Winnsboro, Louisiana; Uncle John William
Griffing and Aunt Doris Inez Cobb Griffing of Winnsboro, Louisiana ; Uncle
Archie Parker ``John'' Magee and Aunt Mona Robinson Magee of Winnsboro,
Louisiana, as well as her Grandfather Byron Osborn Griffing and Grandmother
Laura Fredrica Wier Griffing, Grandfather Thomas Kirby Magee and Grandmother
Sina McMahan Magee. Her other ancesters are interred at Ward-Bend Cemetery,
Como, Louisiana.
She leaves behind her husband John Fischer, son Patrick Collier of Mabelvale,
Arkansas; her mother Margaret Magee Griffing of Clinton, Arkansas; sister
Alcina Griffing Battenfield of Clinton, Arkansas; sister Barbara Griffing
Maxwell of Mabelvale, Arkansas.
She is also survived by her step-daughter Monika Fischer Baldree of Lake
Worth, Texas and step-son Richard Fischer of Benton, Arkansas. She was
grandmother of three granddaughters : Stephanie Fischer of Benton, Arkansas;
Domonique (Nikkie) Mendez of Valrico, Florida; Cylia Baldree of Lake Worth,
Texas.
Pamela was a member of the Southwest Congregation of Jehovah's Witness in
Little Rock, Arkansas. A memorial service was held at the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah's Witnesses, 10412 Mabelvale West road, Mabelvale, Arkansas on
Wednesday, July 2, 2008.
Her ashes were interred beside her father in the New Winnsboro Cemetery in
Winnsboro, Louisiana. Graveside service was performed by Bro. Victor Cheek of
Winnsboro, Louisiana.
My Mother was proud of her Griffing and Swayze heritage, and encouraged me in
my research.
She is a descendant of Rev. Samuel Swayze as well as John Benjamin Griffing of
New Jersey.
