PANSYE MAURINE WHEELUS SANDERS
Funeral services for Pansye Maurine Wheelus Sanders will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sterlington with the Rev. Mike Loveday and the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Visitation will be held today, Dec. 1 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
On Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003 Pansye died at Morehouse General Hospital following a short illness. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years William Tobert ``Tump'' Sanders, her sister Jeanne Ladd and parents Luther and Winnie Wheelus.
Pansye is survived by her daughter, Beverly Jeanne Wilhelm and husband Jim of Las Vegas; two grandsons, Christopher Palmer and wife Allison of Jackson, Miss and Hayden of Jackson, Miss. and John Palmer and wife Emily of West Monroe; nephew Chuck Ladd and wife Liz of Rockwall, Texas and many special friends.
Pansye was born July 25,1918 in Winnsboro. She graduated from Winnsboro High School and business college in Shreveport. Pansye had a long and active career in the banking field and retired as vice-president of the Sterlington Bank in Sterlington.
Pansye was a friend to all and her infectious laughter was familiar to those who knew her. Her four beloved great-grandchildren kept her young at heart and ready for any adventure. Her family, church and friends and will miss her companionship, but will take comfort in knowing she is in a better place.
Pallbearers will be Aubie Powell, Gordon Gregg, John Plunkett, Morris Albritton, Edward Higgs, Don Turner and Jimmy Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Lafeze Dean and Tommy Gilmore.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Robert Lyon and the ICU staff at Morehouse General Hospital for the compassionate care given to Pansye during her illness.
Please join her family in celebration of Pansye's happy and rewarding life here on Earth as she joins those loved ones who wait with open arms for her in Heaven.
