DAVIDSON, Patricia Patricia Rhodes Williams Cookston Davidson died peacefully on Thursday morning.

Mrs. Davidson was born in Dallas 86 years ago and has lived and worked here most of her life. She received her BA degree from Sophie Newcomb College and MA degree from Southern Methodist University. She joyfully served this community as a volunteer in civic, educational, cultural and social organizations and sat on the Board of Directors of many groups including Planned Parenthood, American Civil Liberties Union, Dallas Museum of Contemporary Art, United Nations Association, Dallas Craft Guild and The Family Place. Her professional career included teaching and counseling.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Martin Davidson, and her two sisters Elizabeth Williams Kaufman and Catherine Williams Holmes.

She is survived by her sister Ann Williams Chapman, sons John and Philip Cookston, daughter Elizabeth White and husband Robert, and step-daughters Lisa Davidson and Juli Davidson. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Erin (Chad) Davis, Jenny (Michael) Green, Lindsay White, Meredith (Taylor) Clark of Dallas, and Sophie, Andy and Cory Bertelsen of Portland, OR, and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at The First Unitarian Church of Dallas on Wednesday, April 11 at 2:30pm. Memorial gifts may be sent to First Unitarian Endowment Society, 4015 Normandy, Dallas, TX 75205. Private internment will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery.
