Mrs. Patsy Kelly Long

MINDEN, LA. - Funeral services for Mrs. Patsy Kelly Long, 53, of Minden, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, in the First Baptist Church in Minden. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronnie Laughlin and Dr. Darwin Scott. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Minden. Arrangements are under the direction of the Minden Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

She died Saturday, July 21, 1984, in the Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport following a brief illness. Mrs. Long, born in Zenoria, La. and had been a resident of Minden for 36 years. She was a member of the Minden Presbyterian Church and a member of the Women Of The Church. She was President of the Town & Country Garden Club, a Red Coat of the Minden Chamber of Commerce, and a past member of the Minden Department Club. Mrs. Long was named one of Minden's most influential women in 1979.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. Orlis Ray (Shorty) Long of Minden; one son, Robert R. (Bob) Long of Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. Brenda Summersell of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Kathy Copeland of Minden, Mrs. Patti Morgan of Minden, and Mrs. Jan Anderson of Atsugi, Japan; four sisters, Myrtle Collins of Calvin, La., Imogene Lindsey of Minden, Martha Morland of Rogers, Ark., and Sue Pearson of Minden; two brothers, James E. Kelly of Many, La. and Howard Kelly of Vallejo, Calif.; five grandsons, John Davidson of Minden, Brandon Summersell of Pensacola, Fla., Michael and Matthew Morgan, both of Minden and Daniel Anderson of Atsugi, Japan; one granddaughter, Kymberly Anderson of Atsugi, Japan; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Walter White, Johnny Ray, Henry Lester, Don Moore, Phil Hendry, Hal Jackson, Jack Byrd and Jay Garcia.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of First Presbyterian Church in Minden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society and the Building Fund of the First Presbyterian Church in Minden.
