Emmons Rites Set Tuesday

Funeral services for Paul A. Emmons, 74, a well-known, retired, local insurance agent and presently a resident of Madison, will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Mt. Herman Presbyterian Church in Madison, with the Rev. Dwyn M. Mounger officiating, assisted by Harry C. Raymond and John Stodghill.

He died about noon Sunday, en route to University Hospital, after being stricken earlier at his home.

He was a native of Carroll County, and a former longtime resident of Jackson, where he was associated with the Fred L. Nelson Insurance Agency for many years. He had also been associated with the National Life and Accident Insurance Company.

Mr. Emmons was an elder of Mt. Herman Presbyterian Church.

His survivors are his wife, Mr[s]. Gladys Armstrong Emmons of Madison; one son Paul A. Emmons, Jr., of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one son-in-law, Dan M. McDaniel of Hattiesburg; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Jackson of Greenwood, and Mrs. Monroe Moore of Horatio, Ark.; and one brother, J. E. Emmons, also of Greenwood.

Interment will be in Mississippi Memory gardens in Madison County.

Pallbearers will be John Mackey, Will Ratliff, Jr., Frank Rigby, all of Madison, Herbert Carver, Fred Nelson and John Price, all of Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Mt. Herman Presbyterian Church, and Will Ratliff, Sr., S. E. Hoy, both of Madison, R. H. Maffett and Dr. Benjamin P. Folk, Jr., both of Jackson.
