(November 13, 1928 - January 16, 2009)

Services for Paul A. Matthews will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2009, at chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Jim Lofton officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.

Mr. Matthews, 80, of Pineville, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009, at Schumpert Medical Center, Shreveport.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pineville and was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a Vice President at Baker Manufacturing Co., Pineville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde A. and Winnifred Proband Matthews; brother, Walter Ray Matthews.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Betty Parker Matthews; sons, Michael Allen Matthews and wife Barbara of Pineville, Scott Parker Matthews and wife Miriam of Bossier City; daughter, Lisa Matthews Alexander and husband Clay of Whitehouse, Texas; brother, William H. Matthews of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; sisters, Helen Hill of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Linda Rice of Okeechobee, Florida; grandchildren, Jake, Ashley, Jaclyn, Clayton, Stephanie, and Megan.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
