Services for Paul B. Whittington of Meadville are 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Midway Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Whittington, 85, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson. He was born in Franklin County on Nov. 6, 1915, to Joe M. and Effie Clark Whittington.

He was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and DVF.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia Lee Smith Whittington of Meadville; daughters, Diane Castro of Meadville, Susie Maxey of Pasadena, Texas, and Vickie Lechler of New Orleans; sister, Grace Lee of Meadville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
