Paul Griffin
Mr. Paul Donald Griffin, Sr. 79 of Honey Grove, TX. went to be with his Savior, Sat.. Dec. 22, 2007. He passed away at Sam Rayburn Memorial V.A. Center Nursing Home in Bonham, TX.
Funeral Services will be 10:30A.M. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Honey Grove. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Smith.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Gallaher, Eddy Gallaher, Don Eakin, Dr. Louis D. Stubbs, Ed Parker and Jeff Clark. Honorary Bearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove. Family visitation will be 6 to 7P.M. Wed. Dec. 26, 2007 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove.
Mr. Griffin was born Dec. 30, 1927 at Texarkana, TX. to parents, Daudie Griffin and Monerva Gertrude Barr Griffin. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class. He retired a Pipe Fitter and Welding Inspector and was a member of Local Union 211 of the United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry.
After his retirement with his experience as a welder, he started his own company. He invented and patented the Griffin Heat Shield for welders that is used today. Mr. Griffin was member and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Honey Grove.
He is survived by his loving family and wife, Willa Dean Griffin of the home, daughter, Cheryl Hand and husband, Travis of Denison, TX., son, Paul Donald Griffin, Jr. of Trinity, TX., daughter, Cathy Channing and husband, Greg of Westminster, CO. 4-grandchildren, Shannon Waters, Carrie Osburn, Matthew Channing and Brittany Channing. 4-Great Grandchildren, Kylee, Conner and Carson Osburn and Bailey Dean Channing. 2-sisters, Juanita Wise of Texarkana, AR. and Louise Peterson of Spokane, WA.
