Lafayette Sr., Paul V.

A native of West Monroe and retired from Ethyl Corp. and Briarwood Country Club, he died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. He was 70, a resident of St. Amant and a former resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. and again Monday from 8 a.m. until religious service in the funeral home chapel at noon, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tommy Middleton. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Donna Lafayette; daughter and son-in-law, Suzi and Joe Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Victoria Lafayette, Amy Childers, Amanda Creel, Miles Hutchinson and Morgan Hutchinson; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Pearl Lafayette; loyal and trusting caregiver, Mary Patterson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by wife of 46 years, Connie Dixon Lafayette; parents, Leola Beavers and Gene Lafayette; and sister, Pat Sullivan.

He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Deville, Ricky Deville, Tom Arceneaux, Pete Arceneaux, Richie Sibley, Sam Kimbrough, Mark Smith and Miles Hutchinson.
