Paula Mae Thornton Spigener
Graveside services for Mrs. Paula Mae Thornton Spigener will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Mulhearn Memorial Park. Rev. Bruce Rux will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. of service at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe.
Paula Mae was born on February 9, 1928 and passed away after a long illness on August 5, 2016 at Landmark Nursing Home and Rehab. She was retired from St. Francis (night shift on the maternity floor) after 30 years of service. After retirement, Paula Mae worked at her church, Graceminister Presbyterian Church, as a secretary. She was always helping and doing for others. Paula Mae also worked at Christian Community Ministry until her health declined. She lived at Chauvin Pointe Retirement where she made many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Mayfield and Paula Theresa Seemann Thornton; her brothers, Earl M. Thornton, Mahlon Thornton, and Ernst S. Thornton; nephew, Paul Thornton.
Paula Mae is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Leslie Spigener; nieces, Maylin Patterson, Mandy Orr, Leytine Henry, Nina Craig, Teresa Moon, and Pam Finch; nephews, David Thornton, and Earl Thornton along with many friends from Graceminister Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers will be Richard Patterson, Dickie Patterson, Will Dupriest, Luke Moon, Kevin Moon, and Paul Holman. Honorary pallbearers will be Lukas Dupriest, Elbert Costley and Graceminister Church Family.
