PAULA EVANS

Paula Evans, 54, succumbed to breast cancer on Saturday (Oct. 18, 2008) at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Since Paula made arrangements for her remains to be donated to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, there will be no visitation or funeral service; however, a memorial service was held Friday at Raleigh United Methodist Church in Raleigh, Miss.

Paula was born in Fayetteville and graduated from Lincoln County Central High in 1971. She received a B.A. in 1974 and M.B.A. in 1975 from the University of Mississippi. She was a CPA and worked for 25 years in finance and accounting.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, Judge Robert G. Evans of Raleigh; her mother, Mary D. Pitts of Fayetteville; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Gaynell Evans of Taylorsville, Miss.; her brother and his wife, Guy and Denise Pitts of Morgan City, La.; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mac and Emily Evans of Taylorsville, Miss., And Mark and Wanda Boyles of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

During her illness, Paula took to heart the words from several popular songs, ``Always Look on the Bright Side of Life'', ``Don't Worry, Be Happy'', and ``What A Wonderful World''. She loved gardening and nature and learned that every day is a gracious gift from God.

Memorials can be made to a donor's charity of choice or Raleigh United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 365, Raleigh, Miss., 39153, or an evening out with a loved one to celebrate life and God's gifts to us all.
