Pauline T. Statham

Pauline Amy Thompson Statham, 95, a lifelong resident of East McComb, died July 17, 2009, at Aston Court Assisted Living Center.

Visitation is 10 a.m. Monday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb until services at noon. The Rev. Rick Kennedy will officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood Mausoleum.

Mrs. Statham was born May 22, 1914, in Ruth, to Billy and Beulah Boyd Thompson.

She was a homemaker and retired from Kellwood Manufacturing Co. after 25 years of service.

She was a lifelong member of East McComb Baptist Church, now New Heights Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School class.

Mrs. Statham lived on North Magnolia Street for 68 years before Hurricane Katrina caused an oak tree to destroy her home, resulting in her relocation to Aston Court.

Her favorite pastime and hobbies were crocheting, handwork, sewing and tending her flowers. Her family said she was a much loved mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 1/2 years, Richard L. Statham, a retired ICRR conductor; her only son, Dr. Paul Statham; two brothers, Fred and Henry Thompson and a sister, Mattie Mae Mason.

Survivors include a loving daughter-in-law, Sylvia Reeves Statham of Germantown, Tenn.; a grandson and his wife, Kevin and Laura Statham of Collierville, Tenn.; three great-grandsons, Ben, Jacob and Nathan Statham of Collierville; a sister-in-law, Betty Statham Hales of McComb; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to New Heights Baptist Church, P.O. Box 649, Summit, MS 39666.
