Dodson Woman Is Buried Tuesday At Transport

Young Wife of T. A. McCarty Called to Reward Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. T. A. McCarty were held at the Dodson Baptist Church July 10 with interment following at Transport. Mrs. McCarty died in a Monroe hospital July 9. She was preceded in death by a one day old son, Tommy, July 4. She was twenty-five years of age.

Services were conducted by Rev. Harvey B. Hysell, pastor of the Dodson Methodist Episcopal Church in the presence of numerous friends and relatives.

The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Emmons of Dodson, a graduate of the Dodson High School in 1928, a student of L. P. I., and taught in the Winn Parish schools before her marriage two years ago.

She is survived by her widower, Mr. Troy A. McCarty, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Emmons, three sisters, Misses Elaine, Laverne, and Mavis Emmons, and three brothers, Mourell, Murl, and Jack Emmons, all of Dodson.

Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McLauren, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Womack, Fred Terrel, Tom Sanders, Arlow Head; Mr. Troy Newsom, Roy Emmons and Mrs. J. M. Emmons of Bossier City; Rev. L. D. Emmons, Mesdames G. C. Kidd, A. L. Crain, J. F. Bowen, Elijah McCarty, and K. Hall, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. and Bill McCarty, Miss Winifred McCarty, Mrs. I. W. McCarty, and Mr. Walter McCarty, all of Sikes.
