Pauline Mavis McDaniel

Funeral services will be conducted today at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Jimerson Funeral Home for Pauline Mavis McDaniel of Carthage. Rev. O.L. Howard will officiate, assisted by Bob Beaty. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Gene Campbell, Rudolph Garland, Rayburn Greene, Jimmy Jones, Russell McDaniel and Dee Davis.

Mrs. McDaniel, 65, died Monday, May 20, in Panola General Hospital.

She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Kilgore, the daughter of Andrew Earl and Mary Belle Crews Choice. Mrs. McDaniel had lived in Carthage since 1946, moving from Kilgore. In Carthage she had worked as manager of Dryer's Shoe Store and for the Sears Catalog Store for four years.

Mrs. McDaniel was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and Carthage Chapter No. 747 Order of the Eastern Star and had served on several committees of Grand Chapter of Texas Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore ``Buck'' McDaniel. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John Andrew and Ann Wise McDaniel, and one granddaughter, Margaret McDaniel, all of Carthage; two sisters, Karry Holt of Longview and Earline Ray of Tyler; two brothers-in-law, Herman McDaniel and Robert McDaniel, both of Carthage; three sisters-in-law, Katie Garland of DeBerry, Amy Anderson of the Woods Community, and Annie Faye Jones of Carthage; and a number of nieces and nephews.
