MRS. PEARL KITCHENS
Mrs. Pearl Kitchens, 83, Route 10, Laurel, died Saturday evening unexpectedly in a Laurel hospital. Born in Covington County, she had lived in Jasper County for many years and was the oldest member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Jasper County. Her husband, Joe Kitchens, preceded her in death in 1970.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. S. L. (Katherine) Blackwell, Mrs. Delma McCoullough, both of Laurel; two sons, Roscoe Kitchens, Dade City, Fla.; Winford (Wimp) Kitchens, Laurel; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include two brothers, Coy Barlow, Laurel; Colan Barlow, Gautier; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Jenkins, Gulfport; Mrs. Maude Green, Bogalusa, La. Two great-grandchildren preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the chapel of Memory Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Leon Carmichael and Cliff Ellis officiated. Burial was in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
