Peggy Joyce Parrish, 89 of Whitesboro, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Whitesboro Health & Rehabilitation Center in Whitesboro. She was born on November 18, 1921 in Pineville, Louisiana to the late William Arthur McCarty and Carrie Scroggs McCarty. Peggy was raised in Tioga, Louisiana. She married S. P. Parrish Jr. on February 4, 1944 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2003. In 1944 she moved to Madill and worked as a homemaker, substitute teacher, Secretary of the Marshall County Election Board and co-owner of Parrish Electric & Plumbing of Madill. Peggy served as an Ambassador for the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Cl;ub of Madill. She was also a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, Madill Garden Club and the First Baptist Church of Madill. Peggy hobbies included art (oil painting) and gardening. However, her priorities included being a terrific wife, mother and grandmother.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Arthur and George McCarty; and one sister, Mary McCarty.
