PEGGY LYNN DAVIS PARKER
1939 - 1993

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Lynn Davis Parker, 54, of Panola were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1993 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Scott officiated. Interment followed in Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery. Arrangments were under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Parker died Saturday, Oct. 2, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, La.

Born on May 17, 1939 in Panola County, she was the daughter of William Wesley and Vashti Spradley Davis. Mrs. Parker was a bookkeeper for Sterling Sugars in Franklin, La., for 14 years and had moved back to Panola, Texas, two years ago from Houma, La. She was the owner of Lariats and Lace Gift Shop in Panola and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 21 of Franklin, and of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Carthage High School and attended Nichols State University in Thibodaux, La., for two years. On Feb. 26, 1956 she married Mr. Joe Bailey Parker in DeBerry.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Mr. Joe Parker of Panola; her mother, Mrs. Vashti Davis of Panola; one daughter and son-in-law, JoLynn Parker and Gus Guillory of Franklin; one son and daughter-in-law, William Terrell and Dana Parker of Panola; two sisters, Amy Ruth Latham of Houston and Sadie Marie Railey of Joaquin, Texas; five grandchildren, Iasha, Joseph, Aaron and Hailey Guillory, all of Franklin, and Terri Lyn Parker of Franklin; one great-grandchild, Alexia Guillory of Franklin; numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Hightower, Robert Morris, Bill Helton, Michael Railey, Thomas Frere Britton and Steve Scott.
