Minister's Wife's Rites Wednesday

HAWLEY -- Funeral for Mrs. Peggy M. Woody, 28, wife of the Rev. John Woody who pastors Hawley United Methodist Church, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hawley United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Waller Driver, pastor of First United Methodist Church at Crowell, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Darris Egger, district superintendent of the Abilene United Methodist District.

Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater with Elliott's Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Woody died at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Baptist Hospital in Miami, Fla., after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Woody was born Dec. 29, 1942, at Jerome, Ariz. The couple had been visiting in Florida when Mrs. Woody became ill.

She was preceded in death by one child in January and her parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Woody of Sweetwater, who were killed in an automobile accident near Ranger last week.

Survivors are her husband of Hawley; one son, Steve Dwayne, 10, of the home; one daughter, Pamela Gay, 7, of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover M. Hanes of Sweetwater; and one sister, Mrs. Bill Hendricks of Claude.
