MARJORIE ROBERSON
Marjorie “Penny” Prudhomme Roberson, 54, of Carthage, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas, following a four-month struggle with cancer. Penny was born Feb. 5, 1961 in Monroe, La., to John Archie “Jay” and Vivian Emmons Prudhomme.
She was raised and schooled in Harrisonburg, La., and attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.
Penny is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth Ray “Joe” Prudhomme and William “Rooster” Prudhomme; and husband, Bobby Lee Roberson.
Penny is survived by her daughters, Wendi Pittman of Magnolia and Ashlea Roberson of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren; a brother, Stanley “Pete” Prudhomme of Harrisonburg; sisters, Betty Morris of Lake Claiborne, La., Ann Brown of Athens, La., Tweety Newman and Patty Walker of Carthage; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services and visitation will be held at Still Waters Cowboy Church, 1699 State Hwy. 315 in Carthage. Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today, with funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30. Officiating will be Bubba Broadus. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley “Bull” Butler, Norman Hunt, Jonathan Morden, Eldon Newman, Cory O'Bryan, and Marcus Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Tristan Broadus, Steven Morris, and Marvin Walker.
