P. A. LEE

Permillas Arten Lee, 74, prominent Dunn citizen and native of Johnston County, died at his home in Dunn Monday morning. He had been in ill health for several months.

A funeral service was slated to be held at 4 o'clock this (Tuesday) afternoon at the Divine Street Methodist Church in Dunn. The Rev. J. W. Lineberger, pastor, and the Rev. Jack Daniels, pastor of Hood Memorial Christian Church, were scheduled to officiate; burial was planned in Greenwood Cemetery there.

Mr. Lee was a son of the late Jesse and Henrietta Blackman [sic Tart] Lee of Johnston County. He attended the old Turlington institute at Smithfield and the University of North Carolina. He resided in Dunn since 1903, after receiving his license to practice pharmacy. He was a former mayor and councilman of Dunn and was a member of the State Senate in 1935.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hautense Thornton Lee of Dunn; one daughter, Mrs. John Perry Jones of Dunn; two sons, David Lee of Raleigh, and P. A. Lee, Jr., of Gainesville, Ga. [sic Fla.], one sister, Mrs. Beaulah [sic Miss Azubah] Lee of Raleigh; and four grandchildren.
