J. PHILLIP WALKER

WAYNESBORO, Miss. -- Services for J. Phillip Walker, 77, native of Waynesboro, retired merchant residing at Prichard, Ala., who died Sunday in Tuscaloosa, Ala., were held Tuesday afternoon from the chapel of Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro. The Rev. Mr. Lee officiated with burial in White House Cemetery.

Walker operated a store at Clara for a number of years. After retiring he moved to Prichard, Ala. He was a member of Myers Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Willie Eula Walker, Prichard; six sons, Wilbur Walker and Grady Walker, both of Prichard; Fred Walker, High Springs, Fla.; Jack Walker, Zion, Ill.; Henry Walker, Lake Villa, Ill.; Willie R. Walker, New York; a daughter, Mrs. Sidney Rutledge, Brooksville, Fla.; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Henry Walker and Edgar Walker, both of Waynesboro; Will Walker, Los Angeles, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Carol Odom and Mrs. Lucille Gardner, both of Waynesboro; Mrs. Mamie Mae Hutto, Laurel; and Mrs. Clara Gardner of Satsuma, Ala.
