P. J. Baldwin

Plummer J. Baldwin, 73, of 1647 Robinson St., died at the Mississippi Baptist Hospital Thursday at 5:30 a.m. after an extended illness. He was a native of Smith County, but had made his home in Jackson for the past 47 years. He was a barber in the Jackson area for the past forty years. He owned and operated Baldwin Barber and Beauty Shop in Pearl for eleven years until his retirement three years ago.

Funeral services will be held from Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel Highway 80 East Friday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Quinton Floyd, Msgr. Edward Cratin, and Rev. Mangum officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dora McCloskey Baldwin of Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. K. B. Starling, Mrs. K. T. Wardell, both of Jackson, and Mrs. Louis Mensch of Chicago, Ill.; and five brothers, Spurgeon Baldwin of Raleigh, Pat Baldwin of Laurel, Mack Baldwin of Whiteoak, Homer Baldwin of Laurel, and Ethel Baldwin of Raleigh.

Active pallbearers will be Ray L. (Pete) Ainsworth, Jerry Badlwin [sic Baldwin], Dr. B. D. Maddox, Dr. James P. Baldwin, Robert L. Starling, and Clifford Mayfield.
