A GOOD WOMAN AT REST

At the home of her husband, Mr. W. R. Taunton, a few miles east of Butler, occurred the death on Thursday last of Mrs. Polly Taunton, aged 76 years.

Impressive funeral services were held at Bethlehem cemetery Friday conducted by Rev. John Locke, after which all that was mortal of this grand old mother of Israel was tenderly conveyed to the narrow vault where she now rests in peace.

To her the struggle and burden of bearing our troubles are ended and we confidently trust that like one who awakes from troubled dreams she has awakened to see life's endless morning break and knows herself at home with all the vast throng of loved ones, missed from earth, safe about her. Her home instructions were strong here in this fevered world of disappointment. Her affectitons [sic affections] for friends and kindred was tender and abiding.

She is survived by four sons, and one daughter: Messrs J. F.; A.J., A. G. and W. B. Taunton, and Mrs. S. H. Harris, all of this county. Besides these, many grand-children and an innumerable host of friends who are greatly saddened by her death.
