Porter G. Hailes

Funeral services for Porter G. Hailes, 75, of 4124 Bullard Street, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Wright & Ferguson Chapel with the Rev. John F. Carter officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Hailes died Wednesday night at Hinds General Hospital after an extended illness.

He was a native of Moselle and had made his home in Jackson for the past 21 years. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a retired Grocer, and belonged to the Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, Edward G. Hailes of Jackson; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin E. Wilson of Jackson, and Mrs. Paul T. Pickel of Clinton; three sisters, Miss Leola Hailes of Jackson, Mrs. Maude Kolb and Mrs. C. J. Bender, both of Aberdeen; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be William S. Purvis, Julian Lowther, C.L. Conerly, Jr., J. L. Cooley, D. W. Temple, and T. T. Warren.
